A deputy of the Aqyar (Sevastopol) City Council of the 6th convocation received a sentence in absentia for treason. This was reported by the press service of the prosecutor’s office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Aqyar (Sevastopol).
It was proven that in 2014 the official, together with other deputies, supported the occupation of the Crimean peninsula.
“We are talking about supporting decisions on the independence of the peninsula and the creation of the so-called Republic of Crimea, an appeal to the Russian Federation with a proposal to accept the city of Sevastopol into the Russian Federation, as well as renaming the Sevastopol City Council into the Legislative Assembly of Sevastopol”,- the message says.
He was sentenced to 11 years in prison.
