14 judges from the occupied Crimea were convicted in absentia of treason. This was reported by the prosecutor’s office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Akyar (Sevastopol).
The prosecutor’s office proved that after the occupation, the judges took positions in the illegally created judicial bodies.
“One of the convicts, a former judge of the Rozdolnenske District Court of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, in her new position, pronounced an illegal verdict against the Ukrainian activist Volodymyr Balukh. Another convict, during his illegal activities from 2014 to 2016, made decisions on behalf of the Russian Federation in at least 1,121 court cases”,- the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.
So, one of them received 15 years, another nine – 12 years, and four more – 13 years in prison.
