The occupation court in Qarasuvbazar (Bilohirsk) fined Crimean Tatar human rights activist Abdureshyt Dzhepparov. The Crimean Process reports this.
“It was expected that the court would question two witnesses who, according to Russian security officials, were present when the report was drawn up against Dzhepparov. The human rights activist himself claims that the protocols were drawn up without him; he learned about the persecution when he was summoned to court”,- the statement says.
It is known that the defense insisted on questioning both witnesses, because during another trial one of them had already testified that he was not present during the preparation of the protocol, and subsequently remembered the necessary circumstances, but the witnesses did not come to the court. Despite this, judge Galina Shuvalova still fined Dzhepparov. He plans to appeal.
