Russians are mining critical infrastructure in the Kherson region

November 7, 2023

In the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region, the Russian army is burying explosives near stationary gas control points, electrical substations and critical infrastructure facilities. This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

On the air of the national telethon United News, the head of the Department of Internal and Information Policy of the Kherson Regional State Administration, Oleksandr Tolokonnikov, said that the destruction of civilian infrastructure is a typical tactic of Russian troops before a possible retreat from the occupied territory.

“The situation is the same as it was on the right bank, when they started to liberate the right bank in November, and they started blowing everything up. The same situation, apparently, is on the left bank, I just think that when we get there in the near future, everything will be blown up, including power lines, all gas distribution stations. This is their tactic to cause as much harm as possible to people and, in principle, to Ukraine”,- he emphasized.
