Russia launches stolen mines into the Black Sea

October 26, 2023

Russia uses mine weapons captured during the occupation of the peninsula. The Ukrainian Navy reported this in a comment to the Suspilne publication.

“The Russian Federation is very annoyed by the fact that Ukraine is restoring civil shipping, and that this new corridor has been created, and that Russia does not officially have any influence on it, and has made no agreements with the terrorist country. Of course, Russia cannot easily ignore this, because for them this corridor is a geopolitical instrument that influences both the internal agenda and in the external arena, this is a very important factor for them”,- said Dmytro Pletenchuk, a representative of the Ukrainian Navy.

The Russian Federation launches drift mines in the Black Sea for the sake of provocations and obstruction of the trade route.

“The important point is that they quite often use the mine weapons that they captured in 2014 in the Ukrainian Crimea. Russia is ready to resort to any tools and means in order to achieve at least some victories. Of course, this is ordinary blackmail and terrorism on the part of the Russian Federation”,- the speaker emphasized.
