During a search, lawyer Aleksey Ladin had case documents that contained attorney-client privilege confiscated, thus violating it. Lawyer Emil Kurbedinov reported this to the Crimean Tatar Resource Center.
“Aleksey was kicked out of a number of political affairs. Including for Ukrainians – a military court. We will demand the seized documents and storage media back and challenge their seizure. Advocate privilege was violated”,- says the lawyer.
According to Emil Kurbedinov, Aleksey Ladin was arrested for allegedly placing extremist symbols: the case involves a drawing with a trident and a Crimean Tatar tamga with the words not broken, we are not terrorists, we are not extremists. He was also awarded a fine of 45 thousand rubles for allegedly discrediting the Russian army due to a post on Facebook that included the inscription cluster bombs are a war crime.
“Both protocols were appealed and the arrest was upheld. Next to the cassation court. We are waiting for an appeal regarding the fine”,- he adds.
According to him, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Crimea has officially stated that it will seek to deprive Alexey of his status and there is no information yet on how they will do this.
