In occupied Simferopol, the occupiers registered a new detention center number 8.
Head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, member of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Eskender Bariiev confirms this information.
In a comment to Suspilne Crimea, he noted that the occupiers do not have enough space to house political prisoners from the temporarily occupied southern territories, so they are opening new prisons.
“It’s important for them to take people out, it’s important for them to keep them somewhere, and that’s why they’re opening (new pre-trial detention centers). This suggests that they are continuing their repressive actions. Only the territory has increased. Not only the temporarily occupied Crimea, but also the newly occupied territories of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions. It’s true that first of all, if they are already transporting, then they are transporting first of all to Simferopol”,- he emphasized.
