Thanks to a specially created mechanism, with the participation of Qatar, children previously taken to Russia are being returned to Ukraine. This was reported by Reuters with reference to representatives of the Qatari authorities.
The agency reports that negotiations with the participation of Qatar, Russia and Ukraine lasted several months. This was kept secret.
The ombudsman for children’s rights in Russia, Maria Lvova-Belova, took part in the negotiations, for whom the ICC also issued an arrest warrant: she wrote that she told the diplomat about measures to reunite children and parents who were separated during the SMO. The authorities of Russia and Ukraine have not yet commented on this message.
