A court in Russia sentenced Ayder Muzhdabaev , deputy general director of the Crimean Tatar TV channel ATR, in absentia to 6 years in prison. This was reported by the Russian publication TASS with reference to the press service of the court.
“The court found Muzhdabaev guilty under Part 2 of Art. 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public calls for terrorist activities, public justification of terrorism or propaganda of terrorism) and sentenced him to six years in prison in absentia, serving the sentence in a general regime correctional colony and deprivation of the right to administer websites for a period of four years”,- the statement says.
In addition, the journalist commented on his verdict to Public Crimea.
“I’m pleased. The only thing is that I received very few years of imprisonment in absentia – this is my big complaint against Russian terrorists, but I think that this is a reason to work further”,- said Ayder Muzhdabaev .
