Materials of the case of Abdureshyt Dzhepparov will not be returned for further investigation

September 6, 2023

The Bilohirsk district court in Crimea refused to return the materials of the case of Abdureshit Dzhepparov for further investigation. Abdureshyt Dzhepparov himself and his lawyer Refat Yunus told Crimean Solidarity about this.

The defender noted that he wanted to send the case for additional investigation, since there are violations in the materials and that they must be returned to those who dealt with them, but the court did not support this. In addition, the court refused to allow the defense to receive information from law enforcement agencies proving that Dzhepparov was guilty – according to Refat Yunus, this should have helped to substantiate the position of the defense in court.

One of the witnesses, who was questioned in court, answered the lawyer’s questions that he did not remember and did not know anything, however, as Abdureshit Dzhepparov noted, the judge brought the witness and suggested how to answer.

Dzhepparov calls his accusation a farce.

“It looks like it will have to endure for now. This is a far-fetched article, a far-fetched accusation. The judge, like a prompter, prompts the witness – this is very affected. How can you believe? This is an incorrect question in the context of our life in Crimea,- Dzhepparov stressed.

The Court will continue the process of considering the case on October 2, 2023.

We remind you that on April 25, in Karasuvbazar (Bilohirsk), FSB officers conducted an illegal search at the home of activist Abdureshyt Dzhepparov. He was accused of violating article 19.3 (disobeying the police) of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. And appointed 12 days of administrative arrest.

Later, the occupants opened two new administrative cases on discrediting the Russian army and abuse of freedom of information. Dzhepparov does not agree with the verdict.
