The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, despite previous statements, will not be able to fully integrate private military companies. This was stated by the American Institute for the Study of War.
In its latest report, the institute refers to a report by the Russian edition of Dossier, according to which Arkady Rozenberg has provided over $3 million to PMC Konvoy since the end of 2022. The founder of Convoy, Konstantin Pikalov, previously had connections with the PMC Wagner and has connections with the Russian Main Intelligence Directorate.
“Continuous private financial and political support for the private military company Konvoy and its continued activities in Ukraine apart from the command structure of the Ministry of Defense indicate that the Ministry of Defense is not in a position to fully integrate irregular formations into the conventional Russian forces, despite its declared intentions to do so”,– says the text.
