Ruslan Zeytullaev met with his family in the colony

July 10, 2023

The wife and two daughters of political prisoner Ruslan Zeytullaev visited him in the colony. Meryem Zeytullaeva, the wife of a Crimean Tatar, told about this to the Crimean Solidarity.

Sabriie, 14, and Mumine, 12, visited their father for the first time in 8 years.

“Although children are usually motion sick, they are tired and fell asleep. The children were very happy and Ruslan too – he couldn’t find a place for himself. The older one was crying a lot. And he was all surprised that they were already so big”,- the wife shared.

According to what Meriem Zeytullaeva says, her husband continues to be worried about problems with his teeth, as the roots periodically become inflamed in them, and a rash of unknown origin.

“The rash subsides at times, then the water touches the skin and it all appears again”,- she added.

We remind that on January 23, 2015, in the occupied Crimea, Russian security forces arrested Rustem Vaitov, Nuri (Iurii) Primov, and Ruslan Zeytullaev. They became the first defendants in the so-called Hizb ut-Tahrir case. Everyone was charged with article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (organization of the activities of a terrorist organization and participation in it). The Russian court sentenced Ruslan Zeytullaev to fifteen years in a maximum security colony.
