The case was brought to court against a former Ukrainian law enforcement officer who, after the occupation of Crimea, was engaged in the persecution of Crimean Tatar activists. This is reported by the State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine.
The figurant served as an investigator in the so-called Department of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation for Crimea and Sevastopol. The criminal proceedings initiated by him, the Russian courts recognized the Crimean Tatar religious organizations as terrorist.
“Also in 2018, a traitor was conducting a case against Ukrainian sailors who were captured by the Russians in the Kerch Strait area. At the trial, he petitioned for the detention in the pre-trial detention center of all detained Ukrainians, including the wounded”,- the State Bureau of Investigation reports.
The collaborator is accused of part 1 of Art. 408 (desertion) and in part 1 of Art. 111 (high treason). He faces up to 15 years in prison.
