Liudmyla Korotkykh, the Manager of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, told in an interview with the Hromadske Radio about the recommendations for the reintegration of Crimea, which were developed during the strategic forum The Future of Crimea.

“We have been working on recommendations for the reintegration of Crimea. These recommendations were discussed with representatives of the embassies of the Crimean Platform member states and international organizations.

“We managed to identify 10 areas. Of course, these are not all the areas that need to be addressed. But this is what needs to be done in priority. This is our opinion. We tried to approach it in a balanced and measured way,” Liudmyla said.

The expert explained the civilian policy in more detail.

“Our position is that there should be a moratorium on certain changes in property ownership, such as confiscation, for at least 3 years. We propose to create a temporary register that will not have any legal grounds to recognize any owner. This will be done in order to make a certain inventory of what property is in Crimea. The next step is for the person who owns the property to declare that he or she is the owner. The court or administrative procedure will determine whose property it is and return it to them. Yes, this is not a quick process. But it is the right thing to do,” she explained.
