Eskender Bariiev, the Head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, member of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, said in an interview with the Hromadske Radio, that occupants in Crimea coerce to prepare school basements into shelters.
The expert noted that due to the explosions in Crimea, in particular in Sevastopol and Yevpatoriia, the occupiers, on the one hand, are trying to spread statements that Russian air defence is protecting local residents, and on the other hand, they are actively working with schools.
“They (representatives of the occupation authorities) gathered school principals, gave them instructions; they said they had to bring food. They also said that school principals should prepare basements and give instructions to parents to bring their water and other things to schools. In addition, they are, obviously, looking for representatives of the guerrilla movement, searching for people who can provide information. In particular, during the prayers on Friday (May 12) in Simferopol, they came to the mosque and began to check people completely,” Bariiev said.
