The Ukrainian court convicted in absentia the head of the Youtharmy unit from Akyar (Sevastopol). This was reported by the prosecutor’s office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol.
“By his actions, the chief of staff violated the laws and customs of war, since such propaganda, especially when directed at children, is one of the forms of ensuring voluntary entry into the army of the enemy, which is prohibited by article 51 (1) of the Convention for the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War 1949”,- the prosecutor’s office notes.
The name and surname of the convict are not indicated, but it is known that he became the head” of the regional headquarters of the Youtharmy of Akyar (Sevastopol) in 2016 and distributed military propaganda among children through the media.
Presumably, we are talking about Vladimir Kovalenko.
