The Russian occupiers blew up the dam of a small reservoir near the occupied village of Novodarivka, Polohy District, Zaporizhzhia Region, in order to stop the advance of Ukrainian troops.
“The enemy is mean, the enemy is nervous and uses any means to prevent the breakthrough of its defenses, the advance, respectively, of the defense forces in the Tavria direction, right here, in the Novopavlivsky direction, and after the explosion of the Kakhovka HPP and the man-made disaster – we know this all too well , we see and are fighting against it, the further undermining of smaller reservoirs and dams is going on”,- Valerii Shershen, spokesman for the Defense Forces of the Tauric region, said.
As an example, he cited the occupiers’ detonation of a dam near the settlement of Karlivka a few days ago.
“Now we have information that the enemy blew up a dam near the settlement of Novodarivka and this led to the flooding of both banks of the Wet Yala River. However, this situation does not affect the process of our counteroffensive actions”,- said Shershen.
