Residents of the village of Shchaslyve conducted their own investigation and discovered that at night tanker trucks pour some gray liquid into the river.
Next to them, the construction of a tunnel water pipeline is underway, which should supply water to Velyka Yalta from the Shchaslyvske and Zahirske reservoirs.
Ecologists, after examining the bleached water, came to the conclusion that a non-toxic mixture is poured into the Belbek – it is safe for people, but it contains significantly higher levels of calcium carbonate, which threatens the river’s ecosystem.
