Today, June 12, the Russian Federation celebrates a public holiday – Russia Day.
The team of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center wants to remind you that the Russian Federation in the entire civilized world is associated only with aggression, destruction and murder. The Day of Russia is nothing but the Day of the occupier.
In fact, after the occupation of Crimea, the Russian Federation, illegally using its legislation for political purposes, launched mass repressions on the peninsula against Crimean Tatars and pro-Ukrainian activists. Detentions and arrests of people have become a regular practice.
According to the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, for the entire period of occupation, the number of political prisoners and those prosecuted in criminal cases reached 288, 195 of them are representatives of the Crimean Tatar people.
Unfortunately, after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, terror and political persecution have become a reality for many Ukrainians.
We need to continue to inform the international community about the crimes of the Russian Federation and to remind that Russia is a serial occupier.
Recall that on June 12, 2020, a peaceful action Russia Day – Day of the occupier was held near the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Kyiv, at which activists creatively reminded the whole world that Russia is an occupier. The embassy building was illuminated with images in different languages of the world on the subject of the aggressive foreign policy of the aggressor country.
