On Thursday, June 8, an online discussion of the Procedure for the Creation and Operation of the Center for National Minorities (Communities) took place.
It should be noted that the development of the draft Procedure is due to the need to ensure uniform conditions for the creation and functioning of the Centers of national minorities (communities) in the relevant administrative-territorial units on the territory of Ukraine, the definition of a transparent mechanism for considering the initiative of public associations of national minorities (communities) to create them.
The Head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, member of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Chairman of the SEFC Public Council Eskender Bariiev also joined the discussions. He noted that this is a very important stage in order not just in words, but in deeds to realize the rights and create conditions for preserving the identity of representatives of national minorities.
“This order is necessary, as a new law on national minorities was recently adopted, which will come into force on July 1. In order to make this law work, it is necessary to adopt by-laws (regulations)that will already regulate the articles of the law”,- Bariiev explained.
