In the same cell with the mayor of the city of Hola Prystan, Oleksandr Babych, and the Spanish volunteer Mario Calatayudom, in the Simferopol pre-trial detention center 2, the public activist Yevhen Melnychuk, who was abducted by the Russians in Sevastopol in October 2022, is being held.
An informed source told ZMINA about this.
The fact that Yevhen was detained was found out by his wife. The activist’s parents live in the occupied Crimea and they are also looking for him.
“We were contacted by a man who was in the same cell with him. He said that Yevhen was transferred to them from a neighboring cell. He was hijacked in Crimea for allegedly taking a photograph of Russian technology. Also, the person remembered, but did not name the place of captivity.
Yevhen has 6 children, the youngest of whom is not yet 2 years old.
