Ex-deputy of the City Council of Akyar (Sevastopol) was sentenced to 12 years in prison for high treason. This was reported by the press service of the prosecutor’s office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
The Ukrainian court condemned the former deputy who supported the illegal decisions on the independence of the peninsula, the creation of the so-called Republic of Crimea, the appeal to the Russian Federation on the issue of accepting the city of Akyar (Sevastopol) into Russia and the renaming of the Sevastopol City Council to the Legislative Assembly.
“Prosecutors proved that in 2014, the convict, together with other deputies of the Sevastopol City Council, voted to support a number of illegal decisions of the Crimean Parliament, which was already inactive at that time”,- the report says.
The name of the person involved is not called, but a source in the Prosecutor’s Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea told the Crimea.Realities resource that presumably it is Dmitry Belogortsev.
