173 political prisoners of Crimea are serving sentences in places of captivity – CTRC

To date, according to the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, 173 political prisoners are serving their sentences in colonies, prisons and pre-trial detention centers, 116 of whom are the representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people. According to the CTRC, the number of political prisoners and persecuted by the occupying authorities is 287 people, 195 of them are the representatives of the Crimean Tatar people. This chart consists of 5 categories depending on the status of the persecuted:

– sentenced and serve terms in colonies (131, 93 – Crimean Tatars);

– have  restrictions or on  probation (37, 19 – Crimean Tatars);

– in  detention facilities (36, 23 – Crimean Tatars);

– released (51, 33 – Crimean Tatars);

– persecuted (32, 26 – Crimean Tatars).
