The rights of political prisoner Emil Ziyadynov were violated in the colony

May 17, 2023

Emil Ziyadynov wrote a complaint against the actions of the pre-trial detention center employees who violated his rights. It is reported by the Crimean Solidarity.

The political prisoner’s wife, Elviie Ziyadynova, passed information from her husband, to whom she went on a long visit: it is known that during the transfer he was held in inadequate conditions.

“When he was already transferred from Novocherkassk, he was in transit through the pre-trial detention center in Lipetsk. They were sent to the basement. It was in January. They were not given either mattresses or blankets. They slept in the cold – on the railroads. He said that they were frozen then and  woke up from the cold”,- Elviie said.

Ziyadynov’s complaint was checked, but no violations were found.

“An employee of the Federal Penitentiary Service exceeded his authority, this is another assistant to the head of the pre-trial detention center”,- Ziyadynov told his wife.

Also, during a long meeting, his lawyer Volodymyr Biliienko managed to get into the political prisoner. According to him, there is no pressure on Ziyadynov and no torture is used either. However, since November 2022, pork has been constantly present in the menu of prisoners, which he cannot eat because of religion.

“He does not take this food. There is a shop in the prison, he has the opportunity to buy something there”,- the lawyer explained.

We remind you that on July 7, Russian security forces conducted mass searches in the homes of Crimean Tatars in the Bakhchysarai, Krasnohvardiiske and Simferopol districts of the occupied Crimea. Seven people have been detained. All were taken to the FSB headquarters in Simferopol. On July 7, the Kyiv district court of Simferopol sent Oleksandr Syzykov, a disabled person of the first group, under house arrest. On July 8, the Kyiv District Court of the occupied Crimea chose a measure of restraint for Ismet Ibragimov, Zekirya Muratov, Vadym Bektymyrov, Emil Ziyadynov, Alim Sufianov and Seyran Khairetdynov in the form of detention.

On April 19, 2022, the occupants sentenced Emil Ziyadynov, a defendant in the latest Hizb ut-Tahrir case, to 17 years in colony with the first 4 years in prison, the remaining term in a strict regime colony with restrictions after serving the sentence for 1 year 6 months.
