May 8, 2023

Crimean Tatar Rustem Emiruseinov was hospitalized with signs of diabetes. It is reported by the Crimean Solidarity.

The political prisoner himself told about his problems to his wife, Aliie Emiruseinova, whom he called by phone through Zonatelecom.

It is known that for several months Emiruseinov complained about health problems to prison doctors: itching in the legs, blurred vision and weight loss of 16 kg in two months.

“They didn’t take tests from him all this time, but gave only symptomatic treatment”,- said Aliie Emiruseinova.

Only after complaints from relatives and a direct request from Emiruseinov’s wife to conduct a medical examination, he was tested, from which they determined a high level of sugar in the blood.

“At the time of his arrest, in 2019, Rustem had almost no serious complaints about his health, but only after four years of imprisonment, his health deteriorated dramatically. It’s scary to think what will happen in a few more years”,- commented the wife of Rustem Emiruseinov.

At the moment, Rustem Emiruseinov is in a hospital in Saratov, where he was immediately placed in a punishment cell.

We remind you that on February 14, 2019, Russian security forces conducted regular searches in the homes of Crimean Tatars in the village of Oktiabrske, Krasnohvardiiske district. Three men were detained and taken to the FSB headquarters. Criminal cases have been initiated against them on suspicion of organizing and participating in the activities of the Hizb ut-Tahrir organization banned on the territory of the Russian Federation.

On February 15, the Kyiv District Court of Simferopol arrested Eskender Abdulhaniev, Rustem Emiruseinov, and Arsen Abkhairov, detained after a search, on suspicion of participation in the Hizb ut-Tahrir organization banned in Russia.

On November 3, the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don announced the verdict on the defendants in the Krasnohvardiiske Hizb ut-Tahrir case. Rustem Emiruseinov was sentenced to 17 years in prison, Arsen Abkhairov to 13, and Eskender Abdulhaniev to 12. Political prisoners are forced to serve their first two years in prison.
