The wife of political prisoner Zevri Abseitov reported that her husband’s health had deteriorated significantly and he needed medical examination and treatment. It is reported by the Crimean solidarity.
“His health has deteriorated markedly over these 7 years. A general medical examination and treatment is needed. He constantly walks with a tonometer, he is worried about hypertension, pain in the stomach and kidneys, joints, the remaining teeth require treatment. Incomprehensible seals appeared in the abdomen, requiring examination”,- Fatma Abseitova talks about the condition of her husband.
We remind you that on May 12, 2016, the Russian security forces conducted mass searches in the occupied Crimea in the dwellingss of representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people. As a result, Zevri Abseitov, Remzi Memetov, Rustem Abiltarov and Enver Mamutov were detained. They were accused of involvement in the Hizb ut-Tahrir organization banned in the Russian Federation. In December 2018, they were sentenced to 9 to 17 years in prison. In July 2019, when considering an appeal, political prisoners’ period of imprisonment was reduced by three months. For four years they have been illegally detained.
On December 24, 2018, the North Caucasian District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced the defendants in the so-called first Bakhchysarai Hizb ut-Tahrir case. Enver Mamutov was sentenced to 17 years in a maximum security penal colony with a probation term of 1 year and 6 months, Zevri Absseitov, Remzi Memetov and Rustem Abiltarov were sentenced to 9 years in a maximum security penal colony with a probation term of 1 year.
