Due to the occupation of Ukrainian territories by Russia, the EU decided to extend the sanctions against Russia until February 24, 2024. This is reported by the official journal of the European Union.
We are talking about the illegal occupation of parts of the Lugansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.
“The European Union remains unwavering in its support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders and is determined to fully implement the policy of non-recognition in connection with the illegal Russian occupation. The Union does not recognize the illegal annexation of Ukrainian territories”,- the message says.
The decision comes into force from today.
Now the EU is preparing the tenth package of sanctions, which will be timed to coincide with the first anniversary of the full-scale war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. At the same time, Poland and the Baltic countries insist on the inclusion of most Russian propaganda media in the sanctions package.
