The DHA agency, citing data from scientists from the Turkish Black Sea Technical University (KTU), reports that an excess of the content of toxic chemical elements has been detected in the Black Sea off the coast of Turkey.
It is noted that the researchers took samples along the coast with a length of 1,100 kilometers and found about ten heavy metals in the water. For example, lead, copper, arsenic and zinc have the greatest polluting load on the seabed.
In addition, strontium, vanadium, aluminum, nickel, cobalt and lanthanum are found in the water. The specialists came to the conclusion that the corresponding values in the eastern part of the coast of Turkey are higher than in the central and western ones, which is largely due to the presence of mineral deposits and mines in these areas.
