The Government of Ukraine adopted a resolution On Amendments to Certain Decrees of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on the Issuance of Identity Documents and Confirming Citizenship of Ukraine, which greatly simplifies the procedure for issuing a passport by citizens of Ukraine, especially from the temporarily occupied territories.
The adopted changes regulate issues that greatly simplify the procedure for issuing passport documents during martial law. In particular, it is possible to:
registration by foreign diplomatic institutions of a passport of a citizen of Ukraine for traveling abroad to a child on the basis of an application from only one of the parents;
formation of an e-passport of a citizen of Ukraine, an e-passport of a citizen of Ukraine for traveling abroad to persons who could not receive the document produced due to the temporary occupation of the territory of Ukraine or active hostilities;
completion of the procedure for processing documents by the territorial subdivision of the State Customs Service, which did not accept applications;
sending the prepared documents for their issuance from one territorial division of the VHI to another within Ukraine, as well as abroad;
receipt of a child's international passport by another person, who will be determined by the parents or other legal representatives.
In addition, the circle of witnesses involved in the identification procedure during the receipt of a passport after reaching the age of 18 has been expanded, and the opportunity has been provided to carry it out via videoconferencing (if family members cannot be present in person). The Decree enters into force 15 days after its publication.
