Occupants put Crimean Tatar Isa Akaiev on the wanted list

October 24, 2022

On Monday, October 24, it became known that the occupiers in Crimea put on the wanted list the commander of the Ukrainian volunteer battalion Crimea Isa Akaiev.

A criminal case was initiated against a Crimean Tatar under Article 208 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (organization of an illegal armed group or participation in it, as well as participation in an armed conflict or military operations for purposes contrary to the interests of the Russian Federation). He faces up to 20 years in prison.

We remind you that Isa Akaiev left Crimea in March 2014, after which he created the national battalion Crimea and took part in the hostilities in the Donbas with it. On February 24, 2022, Akaiev was already among the Ukrainian defenders.

The Crimean Tatar Resource Center, as a human rights organization, cooperates with the National Bureau of Interpol in Ukraine and has repeatedly sent requests to exclude the inhabitants of Crimea, persecuted by the occupation authorities, from the lists wanted by Interpol.
