September 26-27, expert of the CTRC, prof. Yevhen Khlobystov took part in the Strategic Session of the informal network of the Initiative for the Development of Environmental Policy and Advocacy in Ukraine, which was held with the assistance of the International Renaissance Foundation and the Government of Sweden.
When discussing the issues of a joint vision of the restoration of Ukraine based on the Green Deal and the ecological and economic balance of the activities of stakeholders, Yevhen Khlobystov noted the special needs of the indigenous people of Ukraine – the Crimean Tatar people – in ensuring the sustainable use of natural resources, the development of national identity and the realization of the rights and freedoms of the people within the framework of the political vision of the reintegration of Crimea.
“Currently, the free and balanced development of the indigenous peoples of the world and, in particular, the Crimean Tatar people in Ukraine, is part of the Sustainable Development Goals until 2030, and a comprehensive consideration of these needs and opportunities is the only way to the harmonious development of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders”,– said the expert.
It should be noted that the green recovery of the Ukrainian economy for Crimea means sustainable and economical use of natural resources, an investment policy that should take into account the requirements of national security, special attention to the development of the indigenous peoples of Crimea and the promotion of forms and methods of their traditional management, a comprehensive combination of educational, cultural and economic projects within the framework of a single strategic vision for the reintegration of Crimea.
