The Head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, the head of the Department for Legal Affairs and Foreign Affairs of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Eskender Bariiev, in an interview with Crimea.Realities, spoke about the new documentary film of the CTRC Give me back my dad! According to the expert, the authors of the picture tried to make every viewer feel the tragedy of children whose fathers were taken away by the Russian occupants.
“We set the task to make the film emotional. For several years we had a dream to film it, we were looking for resources for this. But the main thing was not to make the film feigned – so that the children would not speak in memorized texts, but what was in their hearts. So we thought the script very clearly. In the film, five heroes are the children of political prisoners and the missing. Psychologists worked with them, who asked them questions, and then we tried to present these stories with the help of animation. In general, when preparing the film, shooting was carried out with dozens of children, but only five stories were selected. The footage will not go anywhere, we will hand it over as historical evidence to the families themselves”,- he said.
Bariiev noted that already 12 children were born after their fathers were taken away, and they live in photographs. Someone remembers them, someone does not – all this pain is displayed in the film of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center.
“We want to show it at various international venues, side events of various organizations. Timing is dictated precisely by their requirements. The premiere will be held for the ambassadors of different countries in Ukraine. In addition, our film will participate in festivals, so we will be able to show it on TV channels only next year. There will be only separate demonstrations in different cities of Ukraine, followed by discussion”,- said the Head of the Board of the CTRC.
