On Tuesday, January 25, Russian border guards detained two Ukrainian fishermen in the Black Sea. This was reported by the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights Liudmyla Denisova via her Facebook page.
“Two fishermen Ruslan Romaniuta and Ivan Herasymenko entered the Black Sea on January 25, 2022 on the fishing vessel Volha from the city of Henichesk, Kherson Region, and did not return home. According to preliminary information, the ship's engine failed and it washed up in the city of Shchelkyno in the temporarily occupied Crimea. As it became known, the fishermen were detained by Russian border guards in the Black Sea, about which the Ukrainian side was not informed”,- the report said.
Denisova demands from Tatyana Moskalkova, the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, to take measures to release illegally detained citizens of Ukraine.
