On Wednesday, January 26, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Law On the social and legal protection of persons in respect of whom the fact of deprivation of personal liberty as a result of armed aggression against Ukraine and members of their families has been established. This was reported by the official web portal of the Parliament of Ukraine.
It is noted that the purpose of the bill is to create legislative mechanisms for the social and legal protection of persons in respect of whom the fact of deprivation of personal freedom as a result of armed aggression against Ukraine, family members of such persons, the determination of the grounds and procedures for establishing this fact.
The bill provides:
– determination of the procedure for making decisions on the issues of establishing the fact of deprivation of personal freedom as a result of armed aggression against Ukraine;
– determination of the basis for establishing the fact of deprivation of personal freedom as a result of armed aggression against Ukraine;
– creation of the Unified Register of persons in respect of which the fact of deprivation of personal freedom as a result of armed aggression against Ukraine has been established;
– the provision of annual state and one-time state monetary assistance to persons in respect of whom the fact of deprivation of personal freedom as a result of armed aggression against Ukraine, family members of such persons has been established.
