Today, according to the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, 69 political prisoners are serving their sentences in colonies, 44 of which are representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people. We remind that the Crimean Tatar Resource Center has classified and developed clickable chart Victims of the occupation of Crimea, which will be permanently available on the organization's website in 4 languages and will display the current number of political prisoners, missing and dead people during the occupation of Crimea.
Today, according to the CTRC, the number of political prisoners persecuted by the occupation authorities is 235, 165 of them are representatives of the Crimean Tatar people. This category consists of 5 components, depending on the status of the persecuted:
– sentenced and serve terms in a colonies (69, 44 – Crimean Tatars)
– have restrictions or on probation (33, 18 – Crimean Tatars);
– in detentionfacilities (52, 45 – Crimean Tatars);
– released (49, 32 – Crimean Tatars);
– persecuted (32, 26 – Crimean Tatars).
According to the CTRC, today there are 57 deceased during the occupation of Crimea, 27 of which are the representatives of the Crimean Tatar people. This category consists of the following components:
– Victims of political repression (2 – Crimean Tatars);
– Victims of discrimination (13, 11 – Crimean Tatars);
– Victims of terror (30, 8 – Crimean Tatars);
– Victims of police abuse (12, 6 – Crimean Tatars).
The third category of the electronic database of the CTRC displays the actual number of victims of enforced disappearances during the period of the occupation of Crimea. In total, according to the organization, there are 21 such people, 15 of them are the representatives of the Crimean Tatar people. This category is divided into those who are wanted (9 people, all are Crimean Tatars) and those who are not wanted (12 people, 6 of them are Crimean Tatars).
