CTRC experts at the Crimean Platform summit

August 24, 2021

On Monday, August 23, the inaugural summit of the Crimean Platform was held in Kyiv. The event was attended by 46 delegations from around the world and representatives of international organizations.

The summit began with an official part, during which all participating states signed the Crimean Declaration, which defines the policy of non-recognition of the occupation of Crimea by the Russian Federation, as well as the obligation to introduce additional political and diplomatic restrictive sanctions in case of new aggression.

In addition, four thematic panels were organized as part of the Crimean Platform expert network:

Colonization of XXI century: Recovery plan and restoration of the Crimean Tatar's rights as a tool of de-occupation.

Reintegration of Crimea: Through protection of human rights and sustainable development.

Is non-recognition of attempted  annexation of Crimea a challenge: How to combine pragmatic interests with ethics and values?

Threats to the Azov and wider Black Sea region as challenge to international security: Consolidation of efforts and ways of de-occupation

We remind you that the experts of the CTRC are active participants in two working groups of the expert network : Restoration of the rights of indigenous peoples as a tool for the de-occupation of Crimea, as well as Economy and ecology.

We hope that the work of the Crimean Platform will not be limited to one summit. In the meantime, our team will continue to contribute to active and consolidated work on the de-occupation of Crimea, both nationally and internationally.
