The so-called Kyiv district court of Simferopol sentenced two men in absentia to 8 years in prison for participating in the Noman Çelebicihan Crimean Tatar Volunteer Battalion. The press service of the court reported about this.
“Since the search for E. and H. did not give positive results, it is impossible to extradite them, the court, in accordance with Part 5 of Article 247 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation, on the basis of a petition from the prosecution, considered it possible to consider criminal cases against E. and H. in absentia. The court found E. and H. guilty of committing crimes under Part 2 of Article 208 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and sentenced each of them to 8 years of imprisonment with probation for a period of 1 year”,- the message said.
It is noted that the verdict has not entered into legal force.
