On Saturday, June 26, a solemn procession took place in the center of Kyiv, dedicated to the 11th anniversary of the Day of the Crimean Tatar Flag. Several hundred people carried the 40-meter national flag along the central street of the capital – Khreshchatyk. The event ended with a rally on the Independence Square, at which representatives of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, activists, religious and political figures spoke.
We remind that since 2010, the Day of the Crimean Tatar Flag has been celebrated annually. Today, the Crimean Tatar flag has become a symbol of the struggle for Crimea not only for the Crimean Tatars, but for Ukraine as a whole. It is a symbol of the indigenous people's invincibility and struggle for their freedom and rights. And the day is not far off when the Crimean Tatar flag and the state flag of Ukraine will freely and proudly fly above the Ukrainian peninsula.
