On Tuesday, May 18, the 77th anniversary of the genocide of the Crimean Tatar people, the US Embassy in Ukraine expressed concern over the persecution and detention of Crimean Tatars in the occupied Crimea. The embassy called on the Russian Federation to end the occupation.

“On the 77th anniversary of the Soviet deportation of Crimean Tatars, we remember those who suffered and celebrate their resilience. We are concerned about the persecution and detention of Crimean Tatars by the so-called Russian authorities in Crimea. Crimea is Ukraine”,- the Twitter message said.
The United States called once again to end the annexation of the Crimean Peninsula.
