Stop the conveyor of falsification of criminal cases: political prisoners brought posters to court

March 25, 2021

On Wednesday, March 24, a so-called court session was held in the Southern District Military Court on the so-called Alushta Hizb ut-Tahrir case, during which the defendants raised a homemade poster with the words Stop the conveyor of falsification of criminal cases. This was reported by the Crimean Solidarity public association.

“Even before the start of the trial, the defendants took out sheets of A4 format. On them, by hand, in a simple pencil, it was written: Stop the conveyor of falsification of criminal cases. The bailiff saw this and after a couple of seconds asked them to remove the posters. The defendants followed the bailiff's request and folded paper”,- the message said.

We remind that on June 10, Russian security forces conducted mass searches in the dwellings of Crimean Tatars in Alushta, Bilohirsk and Simferopol. As a result, 8 people were detained on suspicion of their involvement in the Hizb ut-Tahrir organization banned in the Russian Federation. On June 10 and 11, the so-called Kyiv District Court of Simferopol chose a preventive measure in the form of detention until August 5 for the Crimean Tatars detained after searches – Riza Omerov, Enver Omerov, Ayder Dzhepparov, Eskender Suleymanov, Ruslan Nagaev, Eldar Kantimirov, Ruslan Mensutov and Lenur Khalilov.
