The Verkhovna Rada Human Rights Commissioner Liudmyla Denisova demands from the Russian Federation to provide proper medical assistance to political prisoners Dzhemil Gafarov and Yashar Shykhametov, who complain of deteriorating health. Denisova reported this via her Facebook page.
“Dzhemil Gafarov, a disabled person of group II, has exacerbated chronic diseases – stage 4 renal failure, coronary heart disease, etc. For more than a year he has not received proper medical care, and his appeal to the medical unit of the pre-trial detention center is ignored and remains without any reaction. due to these circumstances, our fellow citizen is experiencing severe pain and suffering”,- the message said.
Denisova notes that Yashar Shykhametov also complains of severe pain in the kidneys. He called a doctor several times. He was reviewed, but no diagnosis or treatment has yet been prescribed.
“I ask the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Russian Federation, Tatyana Moskalkova, to urgently take the necessary measures to restore the rights of Dzhemil Gafarov and Yashar Shykhametov”,- she added.
