Members of the UN Security Council discussed the situation in the occupied Crimea

On Friday, March 12, members of the UN Security Council – Estonia, France, Ireland, Norway, the United Kingdom and the United States – held a meeting to mark the seventh anniversary of the occupation of Crimea. During the event, the diplomats discussed the situation with the violation of human rights on the peninsula.

“This meeting provides an opportunity to hear direct reports on the worsening situation regarding mass militarization, violations and abuses in the field of human rights, as well as on the economic and environmental situation on the peninsula temporarily occupied by Russia”,- the statement said.

The meeting is organized by the members of the UN Security Council: Estonia, France, Ireland, Norway, the United Kingdom and the United States, as well as additional sponsors – Australia, Belgium, Canada, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Honduras, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Turkey and Ukraine.
