The so-called head of the committee for tourism, resorts and sports of the so-called parliament of the occupied Crimea, Oleksii Cherniak, said that, despite the spread of coronavirus infection, up to 500 thousand tourists will visit the peninsula. This was reported by the Russian media agency TASS.
“On New Year's holidays, I think, 400-500 thousand people will be marked in Crimea. Taking into account the fact that there were good reservations in November – many hotels were 70% full, good reservations for the New Year, it is unlikely to achieve the results of the record last year. But we are moving towards this figure, which was last year. We must approach 7 million”,- he said.
Cherniak noted that due to quarantine restrictions, there will be no major events either.
We remind that as of the morning of January 4, 336 new cases of coronavirus were recorded in the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. Since the beginning of the year, a total of 33,380 cases of infection are known.
