Representatives of the Russian special services tried to recruit a serviceman of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Crimea. The invaders used blackmail and psychological pressure. The press service of the department reported.
"The officers found that a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, when crossing a checkpoint with the temporarily occupied Crimea, was recruited by the representatives of the Russian special services by means of blackmail and psychological pressure. Thus, an employee of the enemy special service worked out the task of collecting military information and the socio-political situation in the southern region of Ukraine for the Ukrainian serviceman," – the message says.
It is noted that given the fact that upon his return to state-controlled territory, a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine voluntarily reported all the circumstances of his recruitment and refused to carry out the tasks of the enemy special services, the Primorsky District Court of Odessa found him guilty of preparing for treason in the form of espionage and released him from criminal liability for high treason.
