The team of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center has updated the English-language booklet about the political prisoners of Crimea. It contains information (photo, date of birth, city, activity, date of detention, reason, accusation and reaction of the public / relatives or the last word of the political prisoner himself) about 143 prisoners who are being held in pre-trial detention centers and colonies on the territory of the occupied Crimea and Russia, and those who have restrictions or on probation. The given data is systematized according to the criminal “cases”. The booklet was developed with the support of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom in Ukraine.
According to the Crimean Tatar Resource Center:
55 political prisoners were sentenced and are currently in colonies , 33 of them are Crimean Tatars;
59 political prisoners are in the detention facilities, 43 of them are Crimean Tatars;
29 people have restrictions or are on probation, 20 of them are representatives of the indigenous people;
29 people are being persecuted under "Criminal cases", 23 of them are Crimean Tatars;
46 political prisoners of Crimea were released, 31 of them are
the representatives of the Crimean Tatar people.
