Occupants came to the house of activist Kamilov

December 22, 2020

On Tuesday, December 22, in the occupied Crimea, in Sudak, the Russian police came to the house of the activist Refat Kamilov, who had previously been detained on July 11 in front of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation. Security officials claim they are looking for “illegal immigrants”. This was reported by the Crimean Solidarity public association.

“On December 21, police officers came to me. They wrote down my data and said that they were looking for illegal immigrants. They were interested in what kind of illegal immigrants work and live with my neighbor. Why they came to me is not clear. This is the second time since I went to Moscow to the court in support of my compatriots and was detained. They came as I am a criminal. It is my right to go and express a peaceful protest. Of course, I am outraged by this. Why they come and ask questions, I still do not understand, it all had a kind of psychological impact”,- said the activist.

We remind that on July 11, near the building of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, where the appeal of the defense of the defendants in the so-called first Bakhchisaray Hizb ut-Tahrir case was considered, the Russian police detained 46 people who had come to support their compatriots.

On July 29, the Tagansky District Court of Moscow imposed a fine of 20 thousand rubles to eighteen Crimean Tatars, who were detained on July 11 under the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation. All were found guilty under Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code. The total amount of the fine was 360,000 rubles ($ 5,666). On August 5, the Meshchansky Court of Moscow imposed a fine of 15 thousand rubles to three more Crimean Tatars, who were detained on July 11 under the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation. On August 9, 20 and 21, the Meshchansky Court of Moscow fined another seventeen Crimean Tatars for 10 thousand rubles.
