The EU supports the goals of the Crimean Platform – Tochytskyi

December 21, 2020

On Monday, December 21, during an online briefing, Ukraine’s representative to the EU Mykola Tochytskyi said that the EU supports the goals of the Crimean Platform and will soon hold another discussion between Ukrainian MPs and MEPs on this topic.

“The Crimean issue was quite widely disclosed during our dialogue with the EU. The EU supports the goals of the Crimean Platform. Today, after lunch, another discussion will take place between Ukrainian parliamentarians and parliamentarians of the European Parliament on this topic. And this is important from the point of view of conversations around that everyone has forgotten about Crimea”,- he said.

Tochytskyi also noted that the Delegation had applied to the EU on the appointment of an EU Special Representative for Crimea. But there is no answer yet.

“But my personal opinion is that we must decide on the format of the participants: where it will be, on what platform it will take place – it is either the OSCE, the UN or the EU, or another format. And then to the end, insist on a special representative from the EU”,- the diplomat explained.
