On Monday, December 21, a Russian court arrested a 26-year-old resident of Crimea, who was accused of “calling for terrorism on social networks.” This was reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Krasnoyarsk Region and the Republic of Khakassia.
It is noted that the man via his page in one of the social networks posted several times posts and photos in which he called for “terrorist activities.” And in October 2020, he persuaded his acquaintance to participate in the activities of the Islamic State terrorist organization, banned on the territory of the Russian Federation.
The Crimean is accused under Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of Russia (public calls for terrorist activities, public justification of terrorism or propaganda of terrorism using information and telecommunication networks, including the Internet) and Part 1.1 of Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of Russia (assistance to terrorist activities).
