In the occupied Crimea, a preliminary hearing on the so-called case against Kadyrov begins

December 18, 2020

On Thursday, December 17, in the so-called Nyzhniohirsk District Court of the occupied Crimea, a preliminary trial began in the so-called case against the Crimean Tatar activist Ayder Kadyrov, whose house was searched by Russian security forces on August 31. This was reported by the Crimean Solidaritypublic association.

“Today the court read out my rights to me. Then the presiding judge said that a motion was filed by lawyer Lilia Hemedzhi, with a request to postpone the meeting due to her employment in another trial. The petition was approved, the prosecution and I, respectively, did not object”,- Kadyrov himself said.

We remind you that on August 31, Russian security forces conducted mass searches in the houses of the Crimean Tatars in the Nyzhniohirsk, Sovietsk regions and Sudak of the occupied Crimea. Four people were detained. All were taken to the FSB headquarters in Simferopol. Later they were released from the FSB building on recognizance not to leave. They are all charged with Article 205.6 of the Criminal Code of Russia (failure to report a crime).
