On Wednesday, December 16, before the vote of the UN General Assembly for a resolution on human rights in Crimea, the Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN in New York Gennady Kuzmin said that the Russian Federation guarantees the provision of human rights on the peninsula. The press service of the department reported about this.
“Discussions around the status of the peninsula are over: the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol are constituent parts of the Russian Federation. Russia guarantees the provision of human rights throughout its territory, including Crimea, as well as protection from external threats”,- Kuzmin said.
We remind that on December 16, the UN General Assembly adopted a strengthened resolution on the human rights situation in the occupied Crimea. 64 countries voted for the corresponding decision, 23 voted against.
